I have lived through droughts in the far west, and one of the reasons we decided to settle here is because there is an abundance of water for farming. It would be easy to complain this week, but I will hold y tongue. This is by far preferable to the other extreme!
A new item this week is our Thunderhead Cabbage. This is grown in a high tunnel and is tender and sweet.
Tom, Kenny and Melody will be here again this week and we look forward to seeing you.
Blessings,
Bob and Lynnita
But wait! There's more........
I once again underestimated our harvest of cauliflower and broccoli. If you missed out earlier, you can try again. Ordering will be enabled until 9 AM Wednesday, or until we sell out.

Hi Friends,
I want to thank you all for the wonderful support you have given to us these past few weeks and for your patience in working through the kinks of doing this new style of market.
This week we have some improvement in growing conditions and I am happy to finally get some field work done to insure some decent summer crops.
Along with what is listed here, Tom McColley will be with us again this week, as will Kenny Point.
Melody Urbanic is also bringing more treats from Chef Tim and I am copying her FB post here for those of you that would like to pre-order from her. Blessings to all!

I have been concerned for our crop timing for the past month with all of the cool, wet weather we have had. It has been a very challenging spring for getting things planted outdoors. This morning I measured the soil temperature 4" down and it was 47*. It should be 62* by now. This is going to put a sizeable delay on things like cucumbers, summer squash, tomatoes and green beans. Still, we are blessed to have what we do and I hope all of you are enjoying it. We thank you so much for your support.
Blessings,
Bob
More than I thought!
Hi Folks,
I underestimated the amount of Broccoli and Cauliflower we would have available for today’s market, so if it showed as “Sold Out” when you tried to order you can still get some today. The online ordering is closed, but if you come by the market today between 4 and 7, we should have plenty to satisfy your needs. For those that have other items ordered we can easily add these for you when you pick up.
Blessings,
Bob and Lynnita
Market Open
Hi Everyone,
The market is now open for this week’s orders. Remember to get yours in before it closes at 9 AM Tuesday for Wednesday’s pick up.
We have our first round of broccoli and cauliflower to offer this week with lots more on the way. We also have a new variety of red bibb lettuce that we are offering for the first time.
All of our crops are grown without the use of any pesticides and our soils are mineralized with the concept of optimizing human as well as plant nutrition. That’s why our produce just tastes better!
Market is open
This cool, damp April is certainly putting the brakes on the growth and ripening of our high tunnel crops and is making it all but impossible to work ground for the things we want to get planted outside. Still, we have some superb lettuce again this week and with promises of warmer temperatures (at least above freezing) coming, we are hopeful that we can add some more variety in the next week or two.
Broccoli in the high tunnel is starting to form heads and the Culiflower won’t be far behind.
Tom McColley and Kenny Point will join us again this week and I hope to see you all on Wednesday!
Blessings,
Bob
Market is open
Hi Everyone,
I want to say a big ‘thank you’ to all of you that came out in support of our opening market last week. It was great to see all of you and we appreciate your support.
The market is open for this week’s Wednesday pick-up and we still have some really nice Romaine and Red Leaf lettuce. The chilly weather is holding a few things back, but we should be adding some Broccoli in the next week or two.
Tom McColley will be at the market again this week with a few items and we have another vendor, Kenny Point, from Big Bend that will also be joining the market soon.
Remember to use the link in this email to the website to place your order. Just replying to this email does not work.
Happy, healthy eating!
Bob
2020 Opening Day is Here!
Hi Friends,
The Market at Berea Gardens is now open. Please remember to get your orders in by 9 AM Tuesday and our pick up time is from 4 to 7 PM on Wednesday.
We are a little shy on variety as we begin, but we have a whole lot of goodness that will be ripening in the coming weeks.
Our lettuce this week is fabulous. The heads are large, crisp and sweet.
We hope to see you at our new COVID-19 Safe Drive Through Pick Up at the front of our building. We will take cash for payment but if you can use a card I would prefer that for safety reasons. Any Debit, American Express, Discover, Mastercard or Visa will work.
Blessings,
Bob
It's cold!
Hi Friends,
Last Wednesday morning our temperature dropped to 9* putting an end to the availability of some of our offerings. Still, we have a few things for you this week, including our half-bushel boxes of potatoes for you holiday needs. Keep warm.
Blessings,
Bob
