This week's availability
Hi Friends,
Our Grand Re-opening of the Calhoun County Farmer’s Market will be this Wednesday between 9 and 1. We wish to offer our online customers preference, so if you place an order and still want to attend the market, let us know in the “comment” section of your order and we will have it ready for you to pick up at the park while you shop for other items. Otherwise, you can pick up during our regular hours of 4 to 7 at Berea Gardens. If you do not tell us that you want to pick it up at the market we will assume you will come to Berea Gardens between the 4 and 7 timeframe.
Blessings,
Bob
Almost up to speed
This week’s weather has almost been frost-free and the crops are liking the change. We have more things coming on and this will be our first week back at the regular Farmer’s Market at the Upper West Fork Park. Hours there are 9 to 1 on Wednesday. If I don’t hear from you here, perhaps I will see you there.
Blessings,
Bob, Lynnita and Jordyn
Things are greening up!
This week we have a couple of additional items to offer. We may be jumping the gun a little, but we have some wonderful, tender, sweet carrots. These are not yet full sized, but if you like baby carrots you will love these.
The gardens are filling up and the weather is warming. We will be back to full scale farming shortly!
Blessings,
Bob
Green Again!!
Hi Folks,
It has been quite a long season of cold, gray and white, but we haven’t just been sitting by the woodstove. I am pleased that the first plantings since the new year are ripening and some are ready for harvest. We have some of the sweetest, most tender kale we have grown (These plants actually went in the ground a few days before our record minus 21 degree low last January,) some very nice, large leaved spinach, and some romaine ready for you this week.
Also, check out the addition of cormeals that we have freshly ground from our own heirloom grain corn varieties. This tasty, heilroom, organic, non-GMO cornmeal is just the thing for great cornbread, grits, polenta or anywhere a recipe calls for cornmeal.
We are happy to be back at your service and are looking forward to nicer weather and the ripening of other crops that are already in the ground. Carrots,
broccoli, cauliflower and cabbage are on their way soon.
Our pick-up time is still Wednesday between 4 and 7 PM.
Blessings,
Bob
This week's market
Hi Friends,
Our availability list is pretty puny this week and we have more cold weather in store. I have thousands of seedlings started, but we need some sunshine and a little moderation in the temperatures to get them growing! The one thing we still have in great abundance is our butternut squash. Try roasting some up for a reminder of sunshine.
Blessings,
Bob
Market is Open
Good Sunny Day to You!
Our offerings are a little slim this time of year, but we are open to accept your orders. Please remember to get them to us before 9 AM on Tuesday.
Blessings,
Bob
