Market open

Hi Everyone,

I hope you are enjoying an appreciative and reverent Memorial weekend.

The heat in the previous two weeks brought on a huge flush of cauliflower crops, particularly the Romanesco. The heads are not as large as I would like, so we dropped the price substantially and hope that you take the opportunity to buy some. Like all Cauliflower, this will store well in refrigeration for 3 to 4 weeks. Even so, we choose to never sell product more than 6 days old, so we are hoping to sell it this week.

Blessings,
Bob & Lynnita

Bountiful Brassicas this week! Market Open

With the turn to more seasonable weather our Brassica crops have exploded this week. We should have plenty for you, and at reduced prices too! This is really a nice crop of everything Brassica; Cauliflower, Broccoli, Cabbage and Kale. The lettuce is also very nice, even though things are warming up. The beets this week are sweet and delightful. This is some of the best quality of the year, so don’t miss out!

Blessings,
Bob and Lynnita

Market Open - new items this week

Hi Folks,

One of the advantages of shopping locally is that you have access to some products that are not in the normal chains of commerce because they don’t ship easily. Such is the case with a product we have available to you this week. Romanesco is a Brassica vegetable that has been cultivated since the 16th century in Italy. It is similar to a broccoli or cauliflower (some call it Broccoflower, but that is inaccurate.) What makes this product hard to ship is it’s somewhat fragile and fantastic shape. That is a shame becuase the flavor and texture of this food is fabulous. Use it as you would either broccoli or cauliflower, i.e. either cooked or raw. Mark Twain once said that “Cauliflower is just Cabbage with a college education.” That being the case, Romanesco has a PhD! The shape is a wonder of our Creator’s design and is based on both a Fibonacci sequence and Fractal design. If you miss out this week, don’t worry. We have plenty more coming on for the next few weeks.

Blessings to all,

Bob and Lynnita

Ordering Enabled for Wednesday's Market

Blessed Mother’s Day Greetings to all of you Mom’s! Hope your day is very special. I am opening up a little early today so that I can spend some time on honeydo’s for my very special wife and Mom.

Cauliflower is coming in nicely, we have a few beets coming in and our famous purple cauliflower is starting to ripen too. Frost is in the forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday so we will have a very busy week keeping things secure.

Best wishes to all of you hard working mothers/grandmothers and great-grandmothers on this special day.

Ordering is enabled

Hi Folks,

The cole crops are coming, the cole crops are coming! This week we have a bit of broccoli and cauliflower with much more on the way shortly. Lettuce is in a little lull, but more is on the wayfor next week. Soils are still much cooler than normal for this time of year, so things like beans, sweet corn and summer squash will be a little behind schedule. They will all be planted outside when the weather warms some because my high tunnels are full of broccoli, cauliflower, beets and cabbage that are filling out nicely.

Hope to see you this week!

Open for orders

Hi Folks,

I first want to thank all of you that came out in the miserable weather last week to support our market opening. It was great to see you all again.

We have some additional tomato plant varieties for you this week. Broccoli and beets will be ready soon, so we will be adding those in the next week or two.

Melody will be here with more baked goods, and Connie will have more of Tom’s awesome early onions.

Hope to see you!

Ordering is enabled! 2021 Here We Go

Hi everyone,

Hope you have all had a safe and healthy winter. Our growing season starts with seeding veggies in late January and we are ready to open our market on Wednesday. There are many good things in store for you this season. We don’t have a lot of variety this early, but what we do have is excellent. Much more will be available in the next few weeks.

Melody Urbanic will have Chef Tim’s awesome baked goods, and if you use Facebook you can message her with pre-orders here: www.facebook.com/melody.urbanic

We will operate just as we did last year with our drive-through market at the old Minnora School at Rt. 16 South and Milo Rd. Hours will be from 4 to 7 PM every Wednesday until Thanksgiving. Ordering window will remain open from the time you get this weekly email on Sundays until 9 AM on Tuesdays.

We are excited to open this new season and look forward to seeing you all.

Blessings,
Bob and Lynnita

Market Open This Week!

Happy New Year to you all,

We will be doing an online-order-only market this week to provide you all with some fresh stuff to keep you healthy during these dark winter days. We have a limited quantity of Brussels Sprouts this week,, one of our favorite annual treats on the farm. I may find that I have more than I have estimated, and if we do I will send out an update with the additional amount available and will extend the ordering window.

This will be an orders-only market and we will not have extras on our table.

Hours will be as always…… please plan to pick up on Wednesday between 4 and 6 PM.

We are fortunate to say that we love you all and pray for a wonderful New Year for everyone. One meets the absolute best people in this business and we miss you!

Market Open

Hello Friends,

Our final regular market of the 2020 season will be here on Wednesday. I want to take a moment and thank all of you that have so faithfully supported us this year. We have truly been blessed by your patronage.

We still have a number of things growing and will be announcing some sporadic markets to be held in the coming months. These markets will be for those of you that order online only and distribution will be at our same 4 to 6 PM Wednesday time slot. You will get an email from me on Sunday, just as during the regular season, when we have product available for you.

This week we have a special on our Butternut Squash. We still have a large quantity left and are offering it at $1.00 per pound. These can store for months, so now is a good time to stock up while the price is so low.

In spite of an arduous year, we still have so very much to be thankfull for and our prayer is that each of you have a warm and loving holiday to reflect upon all of your blessings.
